DailyKos is Pornography

Well, not the front page of DailyKos, anyway.  As I was catching my flight from Kansas City International airport earlier today, I decided to catch up on the workings (or lack thereof) of the world with their wonderful free WiFi service.  Imagine my surprise when, after loading up the mainpage of dailykos (which loaded just fine), I discovered that the user generated content of the diaries was deemed to be "pornography" by the powers that be of that particular network:

As you can see, y'all are apparently smut peddlers no better than Larry Flynt.  Now, I don't really know what to do about all this, and I didn't have a chance to see if any other blogs had been blocked (sorry, had to hop on my flight).  But I'm pretty sure Markos has intervened personally when ISPs have been blocking things, and thought that might get the problem solved here.  Anyway, has anyone else run into these kind of problems (unless of course you are a Kentucky state employee, in which case you have obviously run into a similar problem)?  I'm never one to chalk up to maliciousness what can be explained by incompetence, but perhaps KCI's staff has a wingnut in its midst?  Curious about everyone's thoughts on this problem, which I have never encountered before at KCI.

UPDATE: Just so it's clear (as the comments have indicated some confusion), this error message appeared for EVERY one of the recommended diaries that I clicked on.  So I don't know why it would allow access to dailykos.com in general but not to the specific diaries.  Can anyone shed light on this?  Also, how do you e-mail Markos?  I hate to bug him, but this seems like something that might concern him personally.

I emailed Tom Tomorrow, who in turn emailed the filtering company (St. Bernard) and made a few threats. St. Bernard backed down.

    AOL's "parental controls" are legendary for blocking access to gun-control sites while allowing access to the NRA's website, banning access to feminist sites while allowing access to religious right websites, etc.

  ... Back in 1997, I was at the San Jose Tech Museum (conference across the street), and they had the new media mag "Suck" categorized as porn.

  There's a reason I left KC in 1979 :)

  The most likely cause is that any site with strong language is categorized as porn by the netnanny software that KCI uses.  A polite piece of snail mail to the management ("Hi.  This is a political site.  Perhaps it should be recategorized as "politics -- adult language".") may help, but given that the people I went to HS with work up there, probably not.

  Hmmm.  That's a project -- writing to airports and asking them what they screen for.  I wonder if it's already been done, or if OAG would fund a study.

    That is to say, is this just a simple rules based or keyword block or are humans involved in the selection of what is blocked and more importantly - what exactly is blocked and what isn't?

  65.160.0.0 - 65.174.255.255 is direct into Sprint PCS-WiFi Access, and if you look at the URL in your browser, I would tend to think this is the extent of what is going on.
